Interior of the tack cabinet

Tack Cabinet 001, originally uploaded by bjkonhigh.

Sidney shows off the new tack cabinet he just built and stained for his niece Kirsten, to store her horse-related equipment. The left side includes a number of shelves, while the right side has several deep drawers. The semi-triangular section on the right can hold a saddle.

What's Sidney working on now?

Working on the tack cabinet, originally uploaded by bjkonhigh.

You can see Sidney is hard at work in his workshop right now. He's been building something new for him -- a tack cabinet. Horse owners use these to store riding and horse care equipment, like saddles and brushes and blankets. Sidney's niece Kirsten asked him if he could make a tack cabinet for her, as a good one is difficult to find. We'll post more photos of the cabinet as Sidney progresses.

Another view of the storage bench

A closer look at this bench -- a great place to store items on the bottom and a place to sit on top.

Bench plus storage space

Bench plus storage space, originally uploaded by bjkonhigh.

Sidney originally made this bench for the children's playroom. They stored toys on the bottom shelf. Now it is near the back door and is used to store boots, backbacks, etc. It's a great place to sit to take off boots or shoes as you arrive or leave.
